C++ (pybind11) -> Numba

• no significant performance loss
• pythonic
• package dependency on fftw3 and omp not required.
• easy to install (pip)

core module

• all numba kernels
• stats utilities
• Fast median and mean filter (using bottleneck)
• Higher-Order running stats in one pass (reference: doi:10.2172/1028931)

io module

• unpack, pack 1, 2 and 4 bit array using numba
• For 1 bit array, using numpy.unpackbits (faster)
