Finalize sponsor request to CFFD #18

Sent an email and team letter to Greg Hepola (greghepola@yahoo.com).

Email thread... Greg, Total cost for the Cedar Falls trip is $6,000.

  1. $3,000 for event registration – Gemini sponsorship is paying for this cost plus $5,000 registration for Duluth event.
  2. $2,000 for student lodging and team meals – we’ll be contacting service organization to help with this cost (e.g. CF Rotary)
  3. $1,000 for parts robot to customize robot after Duluth competition. We’re working with various sponsors to cover the total season robot costs (~$4,000) – we’ve gotten support in the past from Bayer, Henkel, IBM, 3M, Western Digital, NASA, US Bank, Quality One Woodworking, Zephyr Engineering, StarTech Computing, Strike Tool, Black Diamond, and Allied Valve.
  4. School covers team transportation and lodging costs for coaches/bus driver. It would be great to get $500 from the Fire Department for sponsoring this trip, but we’ll take any level of support available. Thank you for considering this request.

Can you revise this and let us know the total cost of the Cedar Falls event and how much specifically you are asking us for? Also - is the team doing anything else to gain support and donations?

Specifically, we’re planning a trip to Cedar Falls, IA for a robotics competition. Fifty teams will be at the event on the University of Northern Iowa campus. The total trip cost for the students is $2,000. Could you submit a request to the Fire Department for support of our team’s trip? Let me know if you need additional details.
