When come time, it will be hard to accurately know if we are lined up and close enough to pick up cone / cubes in auto.

A neural network (all ready trained on Limelight downloads page) can be configured in the "Neural Detector Pipeline" on Limelight. The detected target will give an accurate values for adjustment if needed.
Describe alternatives you've considered
Use of sensors (ultrasonic) & proximity sensor will be used to ensure it has been picked up
