6 years ago Justin, I moved the "Please tell us if you love our code" paragraph into the readme.
It actually looks like github gives you a menu for doing the legal license part properly. Instructions here (I'll let you have a crack at this) https://help.github.com/articles/adding-a-license-to-a-repository/

Added the MIT license blurb.
