hi,

we have a vxlan/evpn bbone based on SPINE and LEAF topology SPINES are HPE-5940-HARDWARE-ROUTER and acts as OSPF router and EVPN route-reflectors LEAFS are mixed HPE-5940-HARDWARE-VTEP ans LINUX-VTEP all devices are on the same AS

we experience this issue : when a mac move LINUX-VTEP receive BGP-UPDATE mac-unreachable sometime all works , zebra send netlink RTM_DELNEIGH message to kernel and mac is removed from kernel FDB

and sometime netlink-md fails with error:No such file or directory and the MAC is not remove from FDB

/var/log/frr/frr.log.6.gz:Jun 21 06:21:14 ITXB03PVE01 zebra[24057]: netlink-cmd (NS 0) error: No such file or directory, type=RTM_DELNEIGH(29), seq=760145, pid=2934621507

we use frr version 3.1-dev

before digging I would like to know if someone is aware of this issue or have same experience ...

thank you

Have you verified versions later than 3.1-dev does not have the experienced issue?

evpn/vxlan has radically improved in newer versions of FRR and 3.1 is really ancient, please try a newer version
