I think this should be gone now, this was probably caused because of original picom. I'm not creating any extra memory in animations, everything is in stack. Could you please try again?
As for memory usage, it uses much than original picom. Optimizing this is really hard, since it runs lots of frames and calculations in each millisecond.
This issue is handle btw, I forgot to close this. In my bad laptop with only intel graphics, even if it is open for several hours it is using around 0.8% CPU and 0.7% memory (16gb).
