No item names or descriptions in inventory

Describe the bug

So any items, pickaxes, food, ores, etc, will not show any name, description or any other relevant information in player inventory, it will only do it in inventories like chests or crafting tables

Steps to reproduce

Just get into the game and highlight some item like a pickaxe, it will not show name or any info like durability, UNLESS you are in an inventory like a crafting table or a chest

Expected behaviour

show the regular item name and descriptions

Hi I have the exact same problem you described. The JEI Overlay is for some reason invisible. I tried everything yesterday to fix this. Reinstalling FTB, modpck, java ans so on.

You can interact with JEI normally if you click on the right side. For some reson it doesnt show the overlay. You can search and everything.

Please beloved dev`s, have a look into it.

EDIT: If you start anew world things are normale for a short amount of playtime. After a few minutes it just vanishes. tried five diffrent world, always the same outcome.

This is a known bug, currently the fix is to open your inventory, navigate to the top left where all the icon are and right click, remove the "creative" options (sword, sun, moon, rain cloud) and you should be good to go!

Through my own testing the reason that it happens early in games is because you do not have any potion effects on your character, as soon as you get one then it bugs out.

Hopefully either they can make the FTB icons "Toggle Gameode", "Set time to Day", "Set time to Night", and "Toggle Rain" start hidden by default, or they remove the JEED and MEED mods from the pack.

Vort3xGameStudios made the accurate statement - this is CONFIRMED by my testing on 11/19/2024. I did not actually want to test this - but I got splashed with a potion and my JEI went stupid. Then spent 2 hours searching the internet trying to figure it out. I have pressed every single combo of CTRL/ALT and all keys. I just happen to stumble on this and as soon as I read "This is a known bug, currently the fix is to open your inventory, navigate to the top left where all the icon are and right click, remove the "creative" options (sword, sun, moon, rain cloud) and you should be good to go!" ... I immediately removed the creative options from the little menu and ALL WAS WELL.

Click to the inventory menu, move mouse to top left corner of screen (put mouse right on one of the icons) and RIGHT CLICK. it brings up a grid and you can click the little red X on the four items to eliminate them from the menu. The attached picture is what you see when you right click (except I have already killed the four creative items). The green plus button can re-add them.

Good evening - confirmed at work. Downloaded and installed FTB Evolution on my work PC. Started a new game, everything worked fine. Then joined my server from last nights post (where I have potion effects active) and JEI went wonky. dropped out and reloaded my local save game at work PC and everything was good. Removing the creative items from the right click menu by clicking the red Xs worked.
