Cheetah 1.2b won't connect to Klipper

I have followed all the instructions available on this repository on:

• how to update the bootloader;
• how to configure, compile, and install Klipper;
• and how to compile, and install the updated CH340 device driver on Linux.

All those previous steps were successful, but Klipper still fails to connect to the board. I've tried with Raspberry Pi OS Buster version and Bullseye version, neither work. I have even used the pins near the USB port to connect a FT232 breakout board I have to bypass the CH340 chip, but that also wasn't successful and Klipper still does not connect. I have no idea what's going on and need some help.
