CAN 120 Ohm terminating resistor missing on V1.3 #8

The 120 ohm terminating resistor is missing on the actual PCB.

See JP3 and R18 on the shematics.

Also seems to be the case in the official product shots:

I can verify this on my board. The CANH and CANL are completely disconnected with no termination resistors in between. This board doesn't seem to function correctly either --- I get consistent MCU timeouts on this board.

This is also the case on v1.3b. Soldering pads are present now compared to V1.3 but the resistor is missing. (Labeling for both boards is v1.3 though). I got a replacement board from FYSETC after the fuse and tmc driver blew up because i followed the manual ...

I soldered a 120ohm 0805 resistor to R18 now it's working.

To bad FYSETC is sending out boards which couldn't function in first place (resitors missing or not even planed). Or which blow up because the docu is not updated.

At least the customer support was fast in sending a replacement. And the wiki is updated now. Would be nice if FYSETC will update their wiki so that everyone knows there needs to be a 120R if you use this as CAN end node (which is the default case for most users and also how fysetc docu dhows it)

edit:

  1. yes i know my soldering is bad
  2. if you have an older board you could also solder a 120R 0805 SMD resitstor between CANL and CANH solder pads
