11 months ago I was doing a little experimentation with this -- I tried messing with repeat rate, but that had no effect. Keyboard or clicking on buttons on screen performs the same.
It happens about 20% of the time and usually will happen within the first 5 inches of a move and then repeat for as long as the button is held every 5-10 inches.
If a move starts smoothly it almost always continues smoothly.
It also seems to only happen after a lot of sequential keypad moves.

This was on a 4-8' machine. If you hold down the x axis jog key the machine will not move continuously.
