I have setup a conveyor belt which throws items into a nether portal, and on the other side, there is a conveyor belt which throws the items back into the portal. It seems like if you go into the portal, then come back out, it has a higher chance of duping. I think it has to do with desync between the overworld and nether saving chunk data? I don't know if this is fixable.
Reproduction Steps
Build a conveyor belt which loops in and out of a nether portal.
