After setting mat_dxlevel to 90 through launch options it no longer crashes. When set to 95 it crashes. Might be missing shader files for dxlevel 95?
Never mind, after another launch it did not load with that either
Closing this issue as it is probably related to flatpak, something with fonts according to crash log.

Garry's Mod crashes on blue loading screen while on x86_64 branch, it seems to happen after I switched to flatpak steam but may not be related to that though. Some shader files are missing according to the log, but I don't think flatpak steam caused them to not download. I already tried verifying the integrity of game files.
Log using ./hl2.sh and gdb
