Pretty straightforward. Hammer already supports 7.5 while in HLMV any model that works in Hammer appears with missing textures in HLMV.

I cannot confirm this being an issue:

As far as I can tell, V7.5 VTF files are loaded successfully in HLMV, which makes sense, since they use the same code as the base game to load them.
