Since Left 4 Dead, The soundscape system has changed and when the soundscapes from the maps are used in Garry's Mod, Sounds that depend on certain area play in the background globally instead of playing at the specified position.

You will have to be more specific about what those "features" are.

I am not seeing any mentions of new features on the VDC (https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Soundscape), and L4D soundscapes are not shipped with Garry's Mod by default, so they won't play at all.
