Udeler 2.0 [Feature Requests]

I am planning to make Udeler 2.0 a big release with a lot of new features and improvements. I created this thread so that you can suggest features that you would like to see in the upcoming versions. I will be releasing incremental updates in the form of beta until I feel its enough improvement over 1.6.2 and will release 2.0.

Features that will get more likes/upvotes will be given priority.

Saludos y, de antemano, muchas gracias por esta gran aplicación, es realmente muy útil. Por otro lado, esta idea que propones para la versión 2.0 de Udeler me parece muy buena. Estas son mis propuestas:

1. Permitir al usuario cambiar el tamaño de la ventana.
2. Permitir al usuario saber qué cursos han descargado previamente.
3. En la configuración, agregue una opción que le permita establecer en qué idioma predeterminado se descargarán los subtítulos.
4. Agregue más opciones con respecto a la descarga de los cursos (por ejemplo, dar prioridad, crear colas de descarga, seleccionar capítulos específicos del curso, etc.).
5. En la lista de cursos, permitir filtros y / o etiquetarlos (ejemplo, ordenar por nombre, categoría, fecha, etc.) y / o mostrar solo los cursos de la etiqueta xxxx).
6. Permite ver información más detallada sobre el curso seleccionado.
7. A favor de la propuesta anterior, agregue un botón "Descargar" en lugar de iniciar la descarga directamente al hacer clic.
8. Un botón "Descargar todo".
9. "Preguntas y respuestas", algo así como una sección donde puede acceder a esta sección en cada curso y poder ver y responder preguntas, hacer preguntas, etc. Aprovechando el hecho de que tiene que iniciar sesión para acceder a la Aplicación, de esa manera no necesita abrir el navegador y acceder a la página.
10. Si es posible, agregue soporte para los cursos de Platzi.
11. Opción para ver las URL de los cursos y su contenido.
12. Agrega una opción "Apaga la computadora cuando hayas terminado"
13. Probablemente no puede descargar los subtítulos en otro formato, pero si se pueden convertir a otro formato, una opción para esto sería genial.
14. Compruebe si el curso se ha actualizado, si es cierto, luego descargue la actualización y aplíquelo a los datos locales.

Y luego ... creo que eso es todo jajajaja tal vez estoy pidiendo mucho, pero mis propuestas, probablemente vengan a mí más, pero creo que eso está bien. Saludos y gracias por tu gran trabajo!

Good day, i really appreciate your work thanks so far.. but please i was downloading some of courses before with the old version of udeler but now i upgraded to this new version all the courses i have was downloading and paused then are refusing to continue they are just saying download failed each time i try but new courses are downloading fine.. please i need your help.... thanks

never mind please i just fixed it by deleting the last incomplete file in the course folder

I was facing the same issue today. Worked by deleting the last incomplete file and restarting the app.

Ok, this has been bugging me for quite some time. So much so that I wrote a script to rename all the videos once downloaded. The downside is that they're no longer recognized by udemy-downloader.

Basically, the lack of leading zeros in the folder, video and zips/tars makes vlc or mpv play the videos in an incorrect order when you open the folder instead of just a video. A solution would be to give the downloaded items leading zeros depending on the number of videos in that particular folder.

udeler does not have with pause and continue feature option like Internet Download Manager, i have to start download all over again if internet is down.

@manmidtexy: If download doesn't resume the solution is,

1. Close the app
2. Go to downloads folder and delete the last incomplete file (basically it has temporary file format)
3. Open app again, click on resume. It works!

@manmidtexy I think this feature isn't present at the moment. Size will vary in Quality/Resolution.

I'm not so sure about that... what if the author adds a new file at the end of the first module? You will have two "lesson 11"...

This is true, but in this case you only rename the files. For example, if the teacher offers 3 new classes in module 1, when you put the course to download, it downloads only the new classes, and renames the rest of the course.

Features that will make this app more advanced

1. Viewing the actual size of course before download. 2. Viewing all the details about the course. 3. Viewing the list of videos & attachments inside the course. 4. "Select-able downloads" means an option to select the video or attachment to download or not. 5. Option for automatically shutting down the pc as soon as the download gets competed. 6. Easily Preview any course .. 7. Auto refresh (The app should auto refresh every 30 sec or 1 min for any new content added to the account) 8. Option to open file location. 9. Sorting/Filter the courses which are already downloaded and which are not. 10. Directly view the course content within the app.

1) Maybe, we can see content of courses. This gives us the opportunity to download only desired lectures.

2) We should be able to manage subtitle option not only before download but also every lecture. For example, we choosed disable subtitles in the beginning. But after, in 34. lecture we decided to change this option. You see what I mean ?

2.1) And also we should be able to change subtitle format. Because on VLC, only srt format is welcome.

3) I don't force you, but courses' welcome page or at least some graphical information about course identity can help us to identify courses. You can add an image of course or if it possibles, change folders icon to course screenshot. This would be the best I think.

4) I think this case could be another project, but you would consider to make a video player like udemy did. Because all of the folders and courses cause some problems. But a hierarchical order, like youtube's playlist feature, and udemy's video player's course structure feature could help us work well coordinated.

@FaisalUmair Version 1.7.0 of the Udeler application is downloading several repeating files and, most of the time, downloading repeat classes as well. It also gives an error when it is halfway through the course download.

Please include a feature to stop downloading a course while downloading it midway. Also include a feature to download particular lectures of a course as in android Udemy app. Also Publish the Date of release of Udeler 2.0. Thank You!

@ rictielly : Procure ou localize o arquivo .mtd na pasta do diretório de download do curso e aprenda a programação OpenGL. exclua o arquivo .mtd e seu download continuará para o udeler v1.7.0 Eu espero que isso ajude. Eu não entendo português e tenho que usar o google tradutor.

@rictielly: Look or locate for .mtd file in your download directory folder of your course learn OpenGL programming. delete the .mtd file and your download will continue for the udeler v1.7.0 i hope this helps. i don't understand portuguese and i have to use google translator.

1. Auto download second course after completing downloading one course.
2. After downloading an entire course, the video stops in between and stops playing the video and audio too in some cases. I don't know what is that about but it's definitely interrupting us to learn the course(s)

after deleting the .mtd file it still gives the error "download failed" its very frustrating. I'm downloading one course, for one month. I've to check every few minutes, to see if its downloading or the error occurred. there is no alternative to this app, to use for downloading content from udemy. please, release the 2.0 with all the fixes.

It would be really nice if there is an option where you can download the whole content of a course, If you ever seen udacimak it not just downloads video, quizzes or assets but it download whole content from specific course for example if I wanna download Udacity - Introduction to Programming Nanodegree it will download all the contents from it with .html and provide it to me like if I am watching it online while it is offline. What I mean that it gives the user experience like if he or she is watching it online but in real it is downloaded as offline. It let's you play the media inside .html just lik online and there is a content slider on the left where you don't have to quit media player like old method you just have to click on a certain file on the left side of the content Check the attached files to have a clear idea what I am tryna say
