Udemy downloader is not logging me in #99

Since last two days i am facing problem with logging into the udeler. Its not logging me in. I checked my udemy password and even changed it to a new one. But udeler is not logging me in even after changing to a new password. I have upgraded to udeler 1.5 also but same issue persist. Please see if this is issue with udemy downloader.

Hi @Rishik0208 I am aware of this issue. Yes it is a problem with this downloader. I am working on it. I actually got it to login but Udemy seems to block frequent login attempts . Since this app doesn't remember your login, a user would need to login again and again hence resulting in login issues again.

So I am working on fixing this by adding an feature which will keep user login session alive till the user logs out manually.

Thanks a lot. For additional info - When I try to log in the downloader shows incorrect login id or password.

The x64 version was giving me an issue so I tried the x86 and it's working fine. Thanks

I have tried the X86 and X64 versions and just get the failed log in. I liked the program when I first heard about it and have needed to download a new class files. Just wondering when to come back and download it again, very convenient for the times I don't have internet access.

Thanks @troyb89 the 32 bit version for windows works fine for me. I am using windows 8.1 pro. No logging issue... Thanks @FaisalUmair for the downloader, you rock :-)

Those of us not using Windows can't switch to the 32-bit version. :-)

It's weird that moving to 32-bit would solve the problem, since it's all running in an Electron "web page".

Switching to 32 bit wont solve the problem. The reason it is working is simply a coincidence that a user has uninstalled the app or Udemy allowing the requests from a particular client after a timeout.

I have fixed this issue and I am uploading a new version (v1.5.2)

@ltony2000 I can't seem to reproduce the issue. It is working fine for me.

Are you able to login on Udemy website? Are you using any proxy or VPN?

And I will soon publish a new version that will save the user login session and use the same. I think that will help a lot of users with login issues and will help everyone in general who use the app frequently.

the problem seems to be back for me too! cannot log in for now (using 1.5.2). I am able to login on Udemy website and i'm not using any proxy or VPN...

Install the latest version. I faced similar problems earlier but with 1.5.3 version everything work really well. It remembers me and my courses too.

i am facing problem with logging into the udeler. Its not logging me in. I checked my udemy password and even changed it to a new one. But udeler is not logging me in even after changing to a new password. I have upgraded to udeler v1.6.2 also but same issue persist. Please see if this is issue with udemy downloader.

Yes , i am also facing same problem its saying incorrect username/password for both external tool and web version. event after password changed its throwing same alert. please fix this issue ASAP.

Uninstalled latest version and installed 1.5.3 . I can login now using Udeler

@utkuaras1 @PrakashElsner same thing happened to me as well. I was using windows 1.6.2 version.

Solution was to uninstall and redownload but using 1.5.3

@utkuaras1 I'm sorry to hear that the solution that worked for me did not work for you. Mind if you give me some specs on your equipment such as OS, intel or amd so I try and replicate? also what version you ran (32 bit/ 64 bit) and weather you used the msi or the exe? If I can replicate it and diagnose I could maybe find a solution for you.

@PrakashElsner I haven't dug into the code from when it is working to when it stopped working and I'm sure faisal is working on it. The only thing I can think is that there is a token not getting passed to/from udemy which is giving the error of not being able to login. Udemy takes piracy very seriously since the authors make their money by selling their products to customers under a license agreement and only allow for download via mobile applications (which the downloads on that make my ipad pro 2nd gen lag to a creep even when trying to scroll through the course sections) and by manually downloading one by one via computer (not worth the effort if there are 100+ modules). Udemy also has a security feature where if you try to sign in several times it will block your account and IP for several minutes not granting access. One possibility is that when typing in the user/pass it is being passed incorrectly (such as sending the information wrong: username becomes suername) or that it's stuck in a never ending loop which has triggered before for me for my account to be locked for 30 minutes by entering in my credentials only once. It's hard to say exactly what is going on for sure as like I said I have not looked at the code yet, but we will see if faisal gets this fixed soon with a new update. If i find the time I might take a look and see what is going on under the hood and report my findings.
