I'm not running Firebase locally, so I can't fully test how this upgrade to v3 might affect those parts of the codebase, but I pulled out the commits that I used to update to Manifest v3 if you want to use this as a starting point.
As I understand it, upgrading to v3 is a requirement to stay in the Chrome Web Store past January 2024.
