CI Builds #8

Two broken tests for issues I found whilst doing the update, travis and appveyor doing builds.

This completely nukes any pull requests that might have resulted from #7; sorry about that.

In general we appear to sometimes (on my local box) and always (on Travis) hang on start up with Mono. I'm not sure what's happening with that yet.

I think it's related to differences in the system when using TopLevel.run. I was attempting, with no success yet, to recreate using smaller examples to isolate it, before I went away.
