Would be good to differentiate between cape hardware version number and firmware (EEPROM) version number in the configs - I can see a future world where availability of components in each production run would potentially need different components so we may need to maintain seperate firmware branches for different hardware variants.
Chris suggested potentially adding a variable record field for the EEPROM version since we now have the ability to download and install EEPROMs right within the UI. If a vendor needs to update an EEPROM for some reason, the EEPROM version would change but the hardware version wouldn't.
