I have no idea what the colouring style that Dave Rapoza uses but it looks amazing. I would love to explore some surreal styles like that. Keep in mind i'm speaking about the colours only and not the insanely high fidelity that he also puts out.
Main character hires mercenaries
The character we use to run around in the FIELD is a separate character from the ones we use in battle.
My idea is something like this: Our main character hires the battle characters as bodyguards. That means we can have one field character and then any number of battle characters with a different level of fidelity.
That means we only have to worry about moving animations for one character. Then in battle, we can do something similar to darkest dungeon.
