/give spams the console with errors

When running a /give command from the console, it gets spammed with error messages, and, in one case, disconnected the player being given the items (although this may have been a coincidence). Example: http://pastebin.com/D2VZi4Q0 . The player does, however, receive the items after the error messages are finished appearing.
