Choose a good coding style to apply on all source code #1

Now that project is open source I think is important choose a good coding style to apply on all source code.

My initial idea is starting with:

UTF8 without boom encoding on all files and LF (Unix) end of line.
Indentation of all php code lines using 4 spaces.
No trailing whitespace, except is needed (for example on .md files)

Any ideas or opinions are appreciated.
