It might be nice to have the docs be served by the python backend and then rendered to HTML by the frontend - that would potentially address the problem we have right now where the frontend styles can get out of sync while still allowing text-heavy pages to be translated as a whole rather than with fluent. (Assuming that's a thing we want.)
Setting up internationalization at the beginning of a project is generally easier than trying to do it later on - though jekyll is pretty different, so it should be easier to wait a bit and let things settle more. Probably using https://github.com/kurtsson/jekyll-multiple-languages-plugin
