Possible bug during Startup with PuTTYTray window being in the background. #254

Hello,

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not. We can only test this in Windows 10 64-bit right now. We have PuTTYTray saved on a thumb drive and the file name is putty.exe. It's what I believe is the latest version, PuTTYTray p0.67-t029.

When we execute PuTTYTray in Windows Explorer on the thumb drive, we see the PuTTYTray icon on the taskbar, but if other windows are open, like Google Chrome, they always keep the main focus. PuTTYTray is always in the background and we have to click on the PuTTYTray icon for the PuTTYTray program to display. I feel this isn't correct and when PuTTYTray is executed, it should automatically take focus and be in the front of all the various windows, unless of course, one of those windows has some Always stay on top issue.

Is this a bug or is this the way it's supposed to be? Thank you.

I've seen this, too, I think. I can't imagine why it would be PuTTYTray specific, unless there's a manifest issue, or I've subtly broken HINSTs or something. I haven't seen an upstream bug. I wonder if it'll be reproducible on the new release.

New release as in a new release of PuTTYTray? Have you decided to continue the project? If so, that would be absolutely amazing! I know how discouraging it can be, writing code, not having any help, and not knowing if anyone even uses your project. I want to say I simply love PuTTYTray and if I wasn't working on my own start-up company and didn't spend my entire life savings on it, I would definitely send you money to help encourage further development. If my business is successful, I will send you money. We expect another year or two before we make a return though, so you might not want to hold your breath on that cash.

Your program was used for our company up until just recently, when we upgraded the security on our servers, and PuTTYTray didn't support the newer algorithms, so unfortunately, we had to switch to another 3rd party PuTTY clone, but I'd love to re-adopt PuTTY into our business. I feel it's the most useful program we use. We use it more like a hardware token. Without the thumb drive, there's no way to connect to the servers. And the fact it doesn't store the sessions in the registry is even better, in case we need to connect when we're away from the business (ie, we get an email saying one of our servers is under attack and need to log in real quick at a friends house to check on it).

Thanks!
