[Instance] Bugs in 5-man instances #1910

A.) General bugs:

All the reports you made are not new since the latest patch. Most of them, maybe all are existent for a loooong time, even maybe since the core started (I started playing later, so I can't tell for sure.).

Further I am sure most of these bugs are well-known and already 've been eported.

Adding to this.

Underbog Heroic:

• During the first boss of Underbog Heroic: First boss spawns mushrooms but they are invisible. Mushrooms to no despawn at the end of the fight automatically.

Also in Heroic Mechanaar the drop rate from Pathaleon the Calculator of the Sun Eater is shown (using atlas loot) to be 1.5% on this server. With very low drop rates also on the plate legs and cloth feet. Using the Wowhead the drop rate should be 10% for the Sun Eater and 20% for the llegs and feet.

I can also confirm this loot table to be incorrect after 16 runs with 14x the mail gloves dropping and 1 each of the plate legs and cloth boots. Please check the loot table for this boss.

Critical bugs, which prevent or seriously complicate the completion of an instance, are:

Underbog:

Old Hillsbrad Foothills:

Mana Tombs:

Mechanar:

  • Only in HEROIC mode: "Mechano-Lord Capacitus" (www.wowwiki.com/Mechano-Lord_Capacitus) goes in an enrage (www.wowhead.com/spell=26662) pretty fast and two-hits almost every tank. This makes the first boss NOT KILLABLE! He should go in enrage after 3 minutes (www.wowwiki.com/Mechano-Lord_Capacitus).

Blood Furnace:

  • The orc wave event in front of the second boss "Broggok" (www.wowhead.com/npc=17380) is way too hard. There are up to 8 mobs coming out of the chambers. It should be up to a maximum of 4 mobs, consisting of "Fel Orc Neophyte"(www.wowhead.com/npc=17429) and "Nascent Fel Orc" (www.wowhead.com/npc=17398). These bugs need to be fixed first. All these instances are in a very bad condition on the server and are rarely requested in the world channel because of these bugs (except Mechanar, where you can easily skip the first boss because of a missing door in front of the elevator).

What a nice list of bugfixes.... What a shame that I am not able to actively play on the server atm.

Some notes that might be helpful:

  • C.3.b) Levitate is correctly casted on TARGET_T_HOSTILE_RANDOM_NOT_TOP (targets a random player from the threat list excluding the one with the most threat).
    • From what I remember, I have not seen anyone levitated in our 5-man runs. If she correctly casts it, it does not seem to have any effect. It should throw you very high in the air. Maybe you can check that again.

  • N.1.a) Door cannot be added without script support.
    • Really nice that you tried it. But if you can fix it in the future, you also have to fix N.3.b). Otherwise, Mechanar would be a pain to do in heroic mode.

F.1.a) denied, it seems that there are new Darkwater Crocolisks which are ok, tho the old ones that were level 1 and "Friendly" are still remaining. F.1.b) denied, there are Infinite Assasins all over the place, the fix requires level adjustment of the Infinite Assasins that are spawning from the portlas. F.1.c) denied, their hp is set to 698.600 but they are not having appropriate behavior, should not go on LIVE

Add to N,1) After a server crash, the elevator in Mechanar dissapears, as in there is no moving platform. This occured in the Heroic version.

The Malicious Instructors might pull nearby groups when aggroed, but not the whole room. If you kill the Instructors only you can still pull the boss and nothing else will aggro.

@itadvice I added L.1.e) - g) and I.1.i) to the list and modified I.1.h).

Furthermore, I would want to draw your attention to the following two problems:

  • Because of the severity of H.1.a): Would you be able to despawn the Orcs behind the gate to a maximum of 4 per group? Or would that break the script of Broggok? Another possibility would be to spawn the Orcs, who are too many, as dead bodies, like you did in C.3.a. (They still move according to the script, even as dead bodies. I already tested this.) It would need to be tested on the PTR if it causes any bugs in the script, of course. I would recommend that solution as long as nobody is available from the script team. This bug seriously complicates the completion of Blood Furnace.
  • Because of the severity of N.3.b): Is it possible to "break" the ability Berserk of Mechano Lord Capacitus as a temporary solution? It would only be necessary in HEROIC mode, because it works fine normal mode. And most groups don't reach the 3 minute mark for his enrage, anyway. At the moment, he is not killable unfortunately. Therefore, this workaround would be greatly appreciated. I would recommend this solution as long as nobody is available from the script team

After patch 8.1 it seems that there are couple of friendly mobs in Old Hillsbrad Foothills.

  • The pack of 4 mobs infront of the first house where Thrall arives in Tarren Mill screenshot
  • The 2 Tarren Mill Protectors at the entrance of Tarren Mill screenshot
  • The 2 Tarren Mill Guardsmans that are patroling in Tarren Mill screenshot
  • The Tarren Mill Lookout standing left of the entrance of Tarren Mill screenshot

After patch 8.1: Slave Pens: (Only in HEROIC mode) Now there are some mining nodes and herbs spawned in Heroic mode too. There are some incorrect nodes that are spawning on top of each other.

Mobs feared by players still do not pull other mobs in instances, this should really get some attention, it makes instances easier.

@Anelith and @itadvice This mass pull in your video is caused by the fix of G.1.b).

  • Before it was fixed, Shattered Hand Warhounds aggroed if you pulled a Bonechewer Ravenger. (which was wrong, too ---> G.1.d.)
  • With the fix of G.1.b., all Shattered Hand Warhounds were linked to the groups next to them.
  • Now, Shattered Hand Warhounds AND all groups near them attack you if you pull a Bonechewer Ravenger. (video of Anelith)
  • But if G.1.d) is fixed as described, it should not cause any problems anymore.

@itadvice I.1.h) and L.3.a) look like they would be fixable in DB, right? And L.2.b) is still denied (just in case you overlooked it).

@itadvice

  • I added B.1.f., P.1.g), L.1.h) - i), L.3.c) - 5.a), M.2.a) - e) and I.1.j) - u) to the list.
  • I.1.e. is denied. 4 of these mobs are missing in the last hallway before the last boss Kargath. (Only tested on LIVE in heroic mode)
  • P.1.e. is denied. (Only tested on LIVE in heroic mode)
  • I.1.h. could be fixed with the second possibility. Problems in the script mob_fel_orc_convert won't have any effect, because the mob Fel Orc Convert is not involved in the second solution. This mob was simply not spawned in that room on retail.
  • Would it be possible to fix P.1.c) by reducing the HP of these mobs to 40% of their current health value? It would not really matter if they start the fight with 40% HP or with 100% HP when the values are the same. But it would be much better than the current situation.

Furthermore a small note for you if you look at I.1.r) -t): These fix suggestions are not 100% blizzlike, because there is no event on Feenix where loads of Shattered Hand Zealots attack you. (video 04:38 - 05:15) The only differences between these proposals and the retail blizzlike situation would be that no mobs run towards you as you run along the hallway and that you kill the Shattered Hand Scout(I.1.s.) instead of letting him run to Blood Guard Porung and despawn there. But I think these fix suggestions are easier to achieve and give players almost the same experience.

  • Dalliah and Soccothrates are arguing when the party of players enter the room:

    Soccothrates: Did you call on me? Dalliah: Why would I call on you? Soccothrates: To do your heavy lifting now, most likely. Dalliah: When I need someone to prance around like an overstuffed peacock, I'll call on you. Soccothrates: Then I commit myself to ignoring you. Dalliah: What do YOU know about commitment, sheet-sah? Soccothrates: You are the one who should be — Wait, we have company.

After the dialogue they should go "to their corners" further inside their "tunnels" @ 3:40

Grr, increase the maximum amount of signs. Half of my Arcatraz report was deleted automatically....

I deleted the text of already fixed issues to gain some more signs. :D
