As the title says. Formula for steady shot damage: DamageModifiers_(150 + (BaseWeaponDamage/WeaponSpeed)_2.8 + 0.2*RAP + [Dazed: 175])
Steady shot formula wasn't released from blizzard. This is what we know from blizzard: Patch 2.3.0 (2007-11-13): Tooltip clarified to indicate base weapon damage is used in the damage calculation. Patch 2.2.0 (2007-09-25): The tooltip stating the percentage of Attack Power gained by Steady Shot was inaccurate and has been corrected. The damage remains unchanged. But this formula is correct as tested and discussed many times on retail. And it's also correct to archangel.
My hunter had 2075 AP, and Serpent spine longbow ( 217-327)=272 average with 3.00 bow speed. And the talent Focused fire adding 2%. And for later, I have 811 agility Steady shot dmg with no armor = 854
This is what I got on some mobs in outland The damage means the mobs I tested on have about 36,4169% dmg reduction.
Expose weakness adds 202,75 AP This means my steady shot with expose weakness should do about 569,133 dmg. Feel free to check the maths yourself.
This is the result. Exactly the same as before.
Btw, I made sure I had no proccing of any kind while doing the test, and while checking with expose weakness I made sure it was applied first before using steady shot, and auto shot for that matter.
Even though the sample size is small, the result is clear enough to conclude that steady shot doesn't gain the AP buff from expose weakness.
I have screenshots of auto shot too, and I can inform that the damage increase was very clear and applied to auto shot, with about 40 dmg on average.
