Currently on RoS, if your arena is about to start, and you drop totems while "down" on Ring of Valor, they stay down there and still benefit you, but are unkillable.
Lock portal seems to do the same thing, but luckily it doesn't allow players to port down.
The totems under the map removed fear from shaman (you can see that the blind is full, so fear came second, but then was removed), and cleansed poisons from the warlock.

Warlock had just ported, but there's no portal visual on the ground. I'm guessing it's under the map, with the totems.
