Assigning a core to handle BaM with varying numbers of segments could be a clever idea to reduce computing time. Simultaneously running processes with varying 'nS' arguments.

That's a very good idea! But I have no experience in parallelization so I can't tell if it can be done in a straightforward way or if it would also require changes to BaM and/or RBaM. Let's keep the ticket open and we'll investigate this probably as part of the 2024 program?
