I installed 1.1.1 with success and worked fine...Though my fault i should
downgrade to 1.0.2
(already did with success) the problem now is that my iPhone version is 1.0.2
with Modem
Firmware 04.01.13_G. When i tried installing again 1.1.1 (pre 1.1.1 uprgade
worked and i install
1.1.1 through iTunes) when tried jailbreaking (activate) i could not... Do i
have to do something
else in order to re-upgrade??? Maybe i can not jailbreak and have Modem
Firmware 04.01.13_G ???

I have exactly the same problem, I downgrade to 1.0.2 activate, pre-11 and
upgrade
to 1.1.1 but I have a "jailbreak failure" after I finish all the process of
activate
the 1.1.1.

Regards.

Yep same issue here, unable to perform jailbreak after following the
instructions in independence, always get an
error saying jailbreak failed - this is on downgraded version to 1.02 using the
04.01.13_G modem firmware - is
it possible to perform the jailbreak with this combination, any help
appreciated!

Yes, as I said, please read the instructions. You need to do the Pre-1.1.1
Upgrade before you actually upgrade to
1.1.1.

Hi to everybody. Hopefully today i got the 1.1.1 on the iPhone. My problem is
similar to all those that i read in
three diffrent forums where i will also paste this comment. How did i solve the
problem?

where i was installing the ssh the wrong way from the independence. when i was
prompted to restart the
phone holding the home and sleep for 3 seconds, i used to press them until the
phone shuts down WHICH IS
WRONG! YOU HAVE TO SLIDE THE SLIDER IN ORDER TO POWER OFF! this was the problem
for me. hope solves
the problem for many of you out there. in a hurry what i did previously.

i had 1.0.2 ->dfu mode and restore with 1.0.2 (you ll get error message, its
fine! close itunes)
open apptap and run (youll get error message its fine! close apptap)
open itunes in order the phone to be recognized. close itunes
run apptap and install installer.
run independence (i used the latest version) and activate firstly and then
jailbreak (i had the firmware under
home/phonedmg (a folder that i created) and in there the 1.0.2 firmware
contents)

then i installed via installer bsd subsystem.
then back to independence to install ssh. BE CAREFUL TO THE RESTART METHOD!
when it is installed i changed the password and i irestarted once again using
the same method!

then open terminal and type rm -f ~/.ssh/known_hosts.
open fugu or a similar program and try to connect. if you do so, then you are
almost done!

then follow preupgrade and you are fine! please post if it worked also for you!

credits go to stefisun!
