68.13.7b for WinXP/Win2003 64-bit always produces error at launch "Can´t load XPCOM" #337

68.13.7b for WinXP/Win2003 64-bit always produces error at launch "Can´t load XPCOM"

I have tried to manually download XPCOM.DLL then moved it into C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\ but the registration using the RegSvr32 command within an admin-elevated console window always failed, returning an obviously bogus error "File not found", regardless whether using relative or absolute path in the command line.

Obviously, it is impossible to register XPCOM.DLL on Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 64-bit, for whatever reason. Am i the only one encountering this XPCOM-related issue?

I am wondering why the 32-bit version works without producing any error. Does the 32-bit version not need any XPCOM? Why only the 64-bit version requires XPCOM?
