Unresponsive on tablet #12

Hi, I purchased the Fergo Remote CDU, but I have problems with the responsiveness on my Samsung Galaxy Tab A (2016) tablet. I know this is not the newest tablet, but in XPlane it was perfectly able to handle any remote CDU.

The problem is that the device is very unresponsive. The touchscreen often doesn't work, the keystrokes are not recognized. I have tried several browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Vivaldi) but the issue remains.

Unfortunately this renders the remote CDU almost useless.

Any idea for a solution?

I have another tablet which is newer, I will give that a go and see how that goes. Maybe the 2016 tablet is just too old and slow ........

Update: Played a bit with a newer Andriod Tablet, a Samsung Galaxy S6 Lite. This seems to perform much better without any unresponsiveness. I will do a full test flight later and post an update.

Hi @Dutch-Hans ,

I actually tested it with a 2014 android tablet running Android 5 and it seemed to work fine with Chrome. I'm leaning towards the issue being related to some sort of firewall issue. Have you checked if the server is allowed to properly run on the system?

EDIT: I just saw the update. I'm glad it is running better with your other device. But it still shouldn't be laggy on your Samsung Galaxy Tab A.

Hi @Fergo I have no active firewalls within my local LAN network, only one from inside to out (even Windows Firewalls are disabled by GPO). The difference in responsiveness is immense. Trying to enter an airport ICAO is impossible on the old tablet. LIPZ is LIP (me hitting Z over and over and nothing happening......) then suddenly LIPZZZ :-)

On the newer tab I do not have any issues at all.

Now I am thinking of it, I did change the default port (8080 is used for many things) to 8088. I should test the old tab again :-) I will let you know

@Fergo It's a little bit better on the old tablet, but still unresponsive in Chrome and Firefox. It still misses letters/numbers as I type them (even if I type them slowly)

What android version are you running in this old tablet?

Android 8.1.0 Seems to be the latest version available for it

I think it is a problem with the tablet itself. The FBW MCDU is also quite laggy on this tablet, it almost seems like it is throttling its SoC somehow. I will give it a factory reset, see if that helps

Not sure what is going on. I did a complete factory rest of the tablet, created a new clean Google account for it. But still this tablet is very unresponsive and not useable for the Remote CDU.
