Installing on Mac sketchup 8 no plugin folder #12

Trying to instal on Max OS X with sketchup 8.  I found the sketchup folder in 
Librarys/application support/gooogle sketchup 8/ sketchup. At that point there 
is no plugin folder. the only thing it contains are 2 empty folders: autosave 
and old colors and a text file "shortcuts"

Do I just create one? If so, is there any other things I need to do to let 
sketchup know to look there?
