Hi there,

Playback keeps stopping and looking in the console I see lots of entries for "429 Too Many Requests"

Chrome log file attached.

Other than that, amazing app!

Many thanks!

From a quick peek it seems like this could be a bug in the web playback SDK / in our usage of the web playback. We don't ever access the URL that returns 429 ourselves.

I'll take a deeper look into this in the next few days. :)

I had the same issue yesterday. Random playback stops and sometimes it stopped outputting sound but showed that the song is running. Reloading the page helped most of the times. We started using at 9:00 pm (Germany) and I think at 10:30 pm it started to work without issues. So to me it seemed like the site was overloaded.

Hey @Niloq, did you also experience the 429-errors @ilumos spoke of?

We are aware of issues where Festify randomly skips tracks, but weren't able to consistently reproduce them on our side, so fixing them is quite hard for us.

The server logs didn't indicate any kind of overload situation, and this is mainly because Festify doesn't really do any heavy lifting besides managing the queue (and that isn't computationally heavy). Playback is entirely done through the user's browser and Spotify servers. So I'd rather put the blame on our integration of the Spotify Web Playback SDK (likely) or on the Web Playback SDK itself (unlikely).

Where can I find the logs? The only logs related to festify I could find are firebase logs from chrome. Located under: AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\ Default\IndexedDB\https_festify.us_0.indexeddb.leveldb That's not the log you speak of I guess. Just my spotify account information there and songs played. No errors.

To make sure it is not a Chrome issue I used Firefox later on. The problems were the same there but I can't find any Firefox logs. (Still used Firefox when it started working)

NeoLegends commented 5 years ago

We don't really need the full logs. All it would take is opening the developer console (Right click > Inspect Element > "Console" Tab) and giving us a screenshot of the information there :)

Niloq commented 5 years ago

The console is empty in both FF and Chrome as browsers were closed. I made the console to save output in between refreshes now and will update you if I face errors again.

Hey,

Great app!!! But i faced the same issues Ilumos mentioned on Top.

I used the app on new years eve and was thinking this is because some songs are on my harddrive and some from the spotify servers.

Then today I tried it again and got allmost tge same logs. Sorry did not make screenshots.

Anyway it is a bit annoying, because i've have a big party on saturday....

Add 10.01.2019 I've seen in a previous post, that problems might occur if the party creator also signs in with admin mode on his phone. So I tried this this morning. During the test I figured that the search reveals strange results. If I search for e.g. Michael Jackson no song from him appears....

The search for Queen just reveals 4 songs image
