Try going to the theme creator, (under the down arrow button next to minimize) pick the colors you want, then apply. On my end, I just have to click “apply theme” every time I launch Figma, since it saves the custom theme just fine.

Hello,

I'm on latest Figma for Linux on Fedora. The 'dark mode' doesn't even work, when explicitly choosing the Dark theme regardless of active System theme. In the browser, the Dark theme works as expected.

May we expect a fix for this, or is there a proper workaround? (The need for setting up a custom theme as suggested above doesn't sound like a solution, as most users just want to use either default Dark, or Light themes, that are completely sufficient.)

Thanks in advance!

Instead of going to theme creator, there's another option called Settings in that dropdown (under the down arrow button next to minimize). Click the checkbox 'Disable themes' which is a workaround that persists on every app launch.

I just figured out after clicking on that Settings option, under the Themes tab, any theme you select from there will actually work.

You might also need to select either Light or Dark theme (depending on what you chose from the previous step) from the default theme selection for a better experience.

@SoyDiego

You can click on the "v" button: image

Select "Settings". After "settings" selected, a menu will open and select "Themes" menu: image

Now select the theme you want.

If you have some problems with colors (bad colors or contrast), you can select "dark" or "light" on the menu on your screenshot.

I will check again but I didn't see the "v" button. I will check again or maybe I have another version. I don't know. I will comment later If I am able to resolve the problem

Thanks @yohannlog for your help!

Seems like the 'disable themes' trick works. but, the dark theme doesn't apply to the settings page, it seems like:
