Consideration of migrating to LGPLv3 #56

  1. The GNU website explains that upgrading from LGPLv2.1 -> LGPLv3 is possible as long as the older license notices are replaced entirely with the new license notices that LGPLv3 itself has which includes other references where LGPLv2.1 is currently mentioned,

  2. My current two questions for this are the following: "Is this feasible throughout this entire mod itself?" and "Who would have to agree upon this decision?",

  3. I have thought of this one for a while now and thought it could use an upgrade since i have heard that LGPLv2.1 is terrible according to developers outside of Minecraft itself. (This includes Qt stating that newer projects should be not using this license in terms of recommendations)

This would require every past contributor to agree. There are some who wouldn't agree to this.

Already have been discussed here, and, unfortunately, this isn't possible, as there are some past contributors who won't agree.
