Test tone doesn't play #1581

Summary

Default Ding (or whatever the test sound) is not being triggered. If I remember correctly, it was working some hours ago while I was in the middle of installing some programs, but now it doesn't. I tried restarting to no avail. I have tried testing windows sound events, and "no sounds" were not selected. But even if I map new sounds, several events like Restore Up, Restore Down, Minimize, Maximize are not working.

Can you reproduce this if the VMAudioBack service is disabled/stopped?
