Indeed, the plural of ago
seems to be aghi
and Google Ngram confirms it. However, it's unclear to me where the word “aghe” was ever meant to be anything else than a pronounciation example. 🤔

Yep, as explained in that link, the point is approximating the pronunciation, and "aghi" is pronounced differently.
