Slow page responses on Beta

Each page on Beta takes 1-2 seconds to load.

Pages on Production are a bit snappier, more like a half second. There's a human measurable delay, but it is faster.

See if a web console in the browser can be used to determine some of the resources which respond the slowest. Maybe find and use some other profiling tools. We can then focus on strategies to speed up those specific resources.

Production looks fast enough outside S3 (which is its own problem). Andrew and I agree Beta is not terribly important to be running fast, especially if Prod is solid.
