signature fail on FP download from beta #353

It might be the case that files were uploaded to production's Filepicker account from beta. The URLs are agnostic of who owns them, but now that we have security, Beta is using its signature against URLs hosted on Production's Filepicker. That will lead to a signature failure.

We should confirm this. If true, it's just a problem with beta, not much to be done.

Looking at this ticket and seeing that not much can be done regardless of the outcome, it seems this is just for edification. Not sure why this was labeled urgent? I'm pretty sure I labeled it as such, so I'm going to pull the urgent label.

The files uploaded to Beta weren't important, just tests. The files which we can no longer access through Beta are seemingly as unimportant.

There is a secondary problem here that Production's Filepicker has a bunch of junk files from Beta that should be cleaned up.

If we don't care about having some files which cannot be downloaded from Beta, we can close this ticket and create a new ticket re: Production Filepicker cleanup.

We don't care that files on Beta cannot be downloaded. It's just the testing system.

In fact, I think at some point we should nuke Beta's database and import a Production database so that Staging is more cohesive.

Erm, actually the filepicker problem would prevent us from using Production FP files on Beta. That would require some kind of download/upload process which would not be worth the time and bandwidth it takes. :/

Guess Beta will stay as-is
