Thank you for bringing this up. Its actually something that has been on my mind for a while now for all of my plugins. The issue at this point isn't technical, but is financial- signing/notarizing MacOS apps requires a paid apple developer account. I have just (after a year) gotten enough in sponsor revenue to sustain the windows signing key that was purchased, and will be putting future sponsor revenue towards an Apple dev account. So I hope to be able to sign soon!
I wanted to reach out regarding your app, which currently can't be installed when Gatekeeper is set to "Allow apps from: App Store and identified developers." It appears this may be due to the app lacking Apple’s required code signing and notarization, which ensures smoother installation for users with standard security settings.
Would it be possible to sign and notarize the app for future releases? This update would make it much easier for users like myself to continue using your excellent app without needing to adjust security settings.
For reference, Apple provides a step-by-step guide on app notarization that might be helpful. Notarizing the app will help users trust the software and ensure a seamless installation experience.
