I think it's because of outdated python versions: $ cat /var/db/repos/FireBurn/media-gfx/afdko/afdko-3.5.1.ebuild | grep -i compat: PYTHON_COMPAT=( python3_{7,8,9} )

Sorry I've only just noticed this bug, I've removed the ebuild from the overlay

https://gpo.zugaina.org/Overlays/4nykey/dev-util/afdko seems to have an upto date ebuild if you still need this
