I have worked on a fork of you library. My understanding (based on the commits, issues and comment about Firebase Functions) is that you are no longer maintaining this library. We (as a company) very much value the concept behind Firebase Queue and actively use it in most of our projects.
I understand that a pull request like this is kinda tricky so I invite you to read the README which contains a motivation section. I also invite you to look at the code to see that the fork is of sufficient quality.
