Hi,

As you know this is the very important thing for the RDBMS.

Some users have a Huge DBs. And they (and we) want to apply Partitioning for Firebird (Like Oracle Partitioning system. Not like M$-SQL Server 2005 :). M$-SQL Server 2005 partitioning system is very weaker than Oracle) . May be you are discussing and planning to apply partitioning dor FB. I have searched this feature but I didn't find anything.

As according to Roadmap FB 2.5 is late for about a year... Any chances at least Postgres style table partitioning would be available [1] in 2.5? I have open source project coming up with need of embedded DB capable of PG partitioning.

this is needing if we have many records in table.

this is nice features for data warehousing and olap.

and can be options that one database(table) go in few hard disk.
