This looks like a zypper problem rather than a firebird one.

In any case I tried the suggestion and it didn't work. I was still able to reproduce the above error.
i did try with rpm -ivh but I had to pass -nodeps otherwise rpm complained about missing dependencies.
This was with opensuse 15.1, so it is possible that it may not work on SLES.

Thank you for your commitment. However, the described case and several others found on the Internet have already been tested with negative results. I also consulted the problem with SuSe engineers. The problem is most likely with Firebird and its compatibility with SuSe 15 SP2.

If I try to install Firebird 2.5.7 on SLES 15 SP2 I get following error message: No provider found to "_tmpRPMcache_FirebirdCS-2.5.7.27050-0.amd64.rpm"
