Conversation started by NPC causes bzzts #110

Describe the bug If I'm walking toward an NPC by holding the 'A' key, and the NPC starts a conversation, I get a barrage of "wrong letter typed" punishment sounds.

This may be related to the Windows feature where you can hold down the 'A' key to type "AAAAAAAAAAA".

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Walk through the village for the first time, using the ASDF keys to move, until stopped by an NPC who really wants to talk.
  2. Continue holding down the movement key for at least 200ms because I'm getting older and my reaction time isn't what it used to be.

Expected behavior There should be no bzzts in conversations due to already-held keys or for keyrepeats, only for bad keydowns.

Hi @jruderman. I could not reproduce the issue in the current Steam build. Can you tell me which NPC you had the issue with?

I can still reproduce. It happens with many NPCs, including early in the tutorial when I'm stopped for an explanation of the Salligush plant.

Maybe it only happens if I'm using multiple movement keys, e.g. holding both 'W' and 'D' to move northeast?
