hmmm... interesting solution. Are you proposing that the government supplies every home/office Solar Powered Systems just like they've supplied prepaid meters? What are the cost implications of that?
The government has a lot of things to do so, I don't think they definitely won't be able to supply every home with it. Even the prepaid meter was not entirely free; I paid about 38k for each prepaid meter I processed. They called it installation fees. They could just help make it available at a cheaper rate and have interested parties install them.
Btw, on the government end, I feel they could do a lot concerning the electricity in general because we have several power plants in the country and I feel they could optimize for making them better.
Electricity has gotten better over the past years but there are still rooms for improvement. The electricity in context here is the one supplied by the government which is not sustainable. That said, it doesn't stop one from generating electricity, as electricity is essential to everyone.
Proposed Solution
Renewable Energy The common renewable energy source we have in Nigeria is Solar. Solar Power systems could be used to power homes, offices and all. It has proven to be quite reliable as quite a ton of people use it as a secondary source of power.
There are tons of services online to get this done depending on how much electricity you want daily, and, there's also some mobile electricity like Lumos which could be used to get work done and you also get to use some of your appliances.
