Youth Commiting Suicide

There are several reasons why Youths and Teenagers commit suicide. We might say some of the reasons are not quite strong enough to make them commit suicide, despite not being in their shoes. Some of the reasons could be:

• Abuse from their parents or guardians.
• Failure in school, after preparing so well and still getting a carryover.
• End of relationships.
• Getting sacked from a job they worked so hard for. We could really keep going on and on, and yet not actually cover all the reasons why they commit suicide. Some (maybe most) has its root from depression.

Proposed Solutions

• The government could help work on Child Services in Nigeria and make it available to Teenagers.
• Therapy: Feel depressed, don't wait. Talk to a therapist.
• Peer to peer therapist. Because not everyone could afford a regular therapy. We need to Check-in with our friends when we notice a change in behavior and try to encourage them in whatever situation they are in. We shouldn't force an answer out of them if they're not comfortable saying it, just be there and show that we genuinely care for them. This applies to a lot of problems, really.
• Being sensitive, as an Adult (Teachers, Parents, and others). They should be more open to listening than criticizing and apply same rules as a peer to peer therapist.

hmmm... "The government could help work on Child Services in Nigeria and make it available to Teenagers" - Please, would you happen to know what the current state of Child Services in Nigeria is? Is it bad or non-existent?

I have no idea about the current state of Child Services in Nigeria. Tho, there's Unicef but I've never seen them around. I don't know if they exist to just take requests, and not reach out to children in schools and other gatherings.
