The problem with manual grabbing is that it's unaware which of the fetched links are actual chapters (just talking about toc grabbing), so the primary function of the library (keeping tack of reading progress) is not possible without also saving a chapter selector (similar to chapter content selector but for links).
So is it possible to just save a record of the novel links that we entered in the field? Like to select it without using the library features at all? To keep a track of novels we download manually?
I'm a bit confused as to what exactly you are talking about now. Do you want to have some sort of history tab of previous downloads or basically add a manual novel to the library to see where you left off?
The thing that I actually want to say is that, if possible, after manually providing the novel URL, name, tags, and synopsis, etc metadata, we can save that instance in a JSON file just like the library. Afterwards, we can just select the name from a list of novels (manually downloaded and added to the JSON file) and redownload it as we do normally in a manual downloading.
If this was not possible
Do you want to have some sort of history tab of previous downloads
This will also work fine. Whatever novel we have downloaded manually, its URL will be saved to a file from where we can retrieve it anytime and redownload it again. Only problem is that we will not have any metadata here and will have to manually enter it again.
I would also like this feature very much! It's quite tedious to re-enter all the settings for a manual download each time there is an update. Ideally it would store all the settings including metadata, blocked tags, and the list of links I removed. Then the update would download the updated table of contents, and remove the links I removed the first time. For example The Wandering Inn is no longer hosted on RoyalRoad, only on the wordpress website. Novel-Grabber in manual works fine, but I dread downloading each update! Even if the manual library feature just loads all the settings, and starts the manual process with me needing to check result and click "Grab chapters" to complete update, that would still be HUGE improvement over starting from scratch each time.
Bookmark feature for manually downloaded novels. Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. There are many novel which do not support automatic download feature. And keeping track of those is bit troublesome
Describe the solution you'd like Adding them to the library without the feature of automatic updates
Describe alternatives you've considered A list can be created (preferably in JSON format) where the novel name description etc can be stored and retrived by a drop-down menu for us to download manually the novel.
Additional context If it is troublesome then can you just make it so that there is a list of links we entered in the field? Thanks you!1
