Fails to install any proton or wine versions #8

Open Hatsune-Cthulhu opened 9 months ago

Hatsune-Cthulhu commented 9 months ago

Installed via marketplace and then launched and tried to install proton GE 8-16, downloaded fine but then it got stuck extracting for 30+ minutes, closed and then tried to reopen Wine Cellar and now it says preparing with no option to install any versions

FlashyReese commented 9 months ago

Can you retrieve the following logs for me?

  1. Run sudo journalctl -u plugin_loader.service > ~/deckyloader.log, this should generate a deckyloader.log file in your home folder
  2. All log files located in ~/homebrew/logs/decky-wine-cellar

Are you running the latest version (0.1.3) and/or are you running a none-SteamOS distro?

luckyone89 commented 7 months ago

I also can't install any versions, but for me, it is simply stuck at the installation queue phase.

deckyloader.log wine-cask.log 2023-11-20 23.33.22.log

I am running ublue-os bazzite-deck-gnome variant with the latest tag

edit : Only GE-Proton8-23 installs 34 and 35 are stuch at the (In Queue phase)

AlexFolland commented 7 months ago

I can install GE-Proton8-23, but not GE-Proton8-24. When trying to install GE-Proton8-24, it just appends " (In Queue)". If I close and reopen the Wine Cellar and then ProtonGE menu, the " (In Queue)" part of the string is gone.

Nachtfrische commented 7 months ago

Same here, I can install GE-Proton8-23 but not 8-24 or 8-25, it is just stuck with (In Queue) without anything happening.

jemd15 commented 7 months ago

I'm having the same problem. When I try to download GE-Proton8-25 it just stays "In Queue"

FlashyReese commented 7 months ago

A patch has already been submitted for the store, it's pending testing and a review from the SDH team. This is for the issue where ProtonGE 8.24 and above won't install, as for the original issue the cause is still unknown.

AlexFolland commented 7 months ago

Thanks. Sorry for hijacking the issue if it is a different one. If there is an issue with the fix when it's available with version 0.14.0, I'll open a new ticket. Please feel free to collapse all comments from my original hijacking until this one as off-topic.

AlexFolland commented 7 months ago

I am commenting again to confirm that I have tested the fix in Wine Cellar 0.1.4 for the Proton-GE 8.24 and later not being able to be installed, and the fix succeeded. I was able to install Proton-GE 8.25. Please feel free to collapse all comments from my original hijacking until this one as off-topic.

Ah so I installed 8.23 and that worked out fine. Any idea when the fix will be pushed so we can install more recent versions?

As I said previously, you need to wait for the SDH team to approve it for the plugin store. It should be on the testing store. I can't give you estimated time because I've done everything on my end and submitted the patch for the store.

similar issue here. just says "the backend could be having a siesta" forever.

Seems to happen with 30.
