[Suggestion] Kerosene #156

One of the petroleum products that's not included in the game is kerosene. Kerosene is actually used for all kinds of things including jet fuel, and was really important in the early days of petroleum refining.

So, what would kerosene be useful for?

  1. Kerosene lanterns. Just like a powered lantern with a mob repelling effect, but they continuously burn kerosene and need regular refills. Burn rate would be configurable This would actually make a fun use for the uranium in Immersive engineering - have it be used for lantern mantles like thorium is IRL. These would be useful for keeping out mobs far from the power grid.
  2. Kerosene stove. A furnace that cooks food very efficiently (could even have an option for doubling outputs like thermal expansion), but can't smelt metals or do other non-food operations
  3. Kerosene converts into Buildcraft / Galacticraft fuel. Both of these are obtained from oil, and IRL the Saturn V burned RP-1 kerosene. Obviously, this would need a configuration option.

That is an excellent idea plus of course not just Buildcraft and Galacticraft fuel but as well as a Advanced Rocketry rocket fuel component.

Kerosene would be neat, but I hesitate to add additional distillation byproducts without a compelling gameplay reason to do so.

Simplicity is a key tenet of IE - some players are already overwhelmed with the four byproducts that are currently produced. Modpack authors can always tweak the output.
